Bilingual invoices, a Shopify app by Checkwell (IDX Studios). Last updated November 5, 2026.
What the app reads
With the read_orders permission, the app reads one order when you preview it or download its invoice or packing slip: the order number and date, the items, prices, discounts, shipping, taxes and totals, whether it is paid, and the customer's billing and shipping name, company and address. The order list shows only order numbers, dates and totals. When you search, Shopify matches your words against order numbers, customer names and email addresses; the app shows only the orders it finds, not the customer details.
What the app stores
- Your store's myshopify.com address and the access token Shopify gives the app, encrypted.
- The details you enter for your invoices: your legal name, business address, GST/HST and QST numbers, and which language comes first.
- Error reports, without order or customer details, to fix bugs.
Orders are read when you ask for a document and are not stored. Invoices and packing slips are made on request and downloaded to your computer; the app keeps no copy. The app stores no personal information about your customers.
Where it is stored
The app runs on Fly.io in Frankfurt, Germany, with its database at Neon. Error reports go to Sentry. These providers process the data only to run the app. Order details pass through the app's server while a document is made and are not written to its database.
How long it is kept
When you uninstall the app, Shopify asks it 48 hours later to delete your store's data, and it deletes your access token and invoice details then.
Your customers' requests
Because the app keeps no customer data, a customer's request to see or delete their data has nothing to return or delete here. The documents you downloaded are yours to manage.
Your rights
You can ask what the app holds about your store, or for it to be deleted, at any time by email.identityex@idxstudios.ca
